Orrery exists because the world's space agencies, operators, and the Wikimedia community make their work freely available. NASA, ESA, JAXA, ISRO, CNSA, Roscosmos, MBRSC, the Canadian Space Agency, SpaceX, Blue Origin, the Wikimedia Commons contributors, and Wikipedia editors have collectively built a public archive of planetary exploration that is unmatched in human history. Thank you.

This page is the full bill of materials for everything we redistribute. Every photograph, illustration, texture, and quoted or paraphrased editorial fragment in Orrery has an entry below — original publisher, source link, license, and the surfaces of the app where it appears.

Storage & cookies

Orrery stores no accounts and no analytics. Two functional preference cookies, each gated by its own ADR, are the only persistent state:

  • orrery_locale — your explicit locale pick, when you choose one in the language switcher (ADR-057). 1 year. No tracking, no personal data.
  • orrery_tour — your current Curator Tour position, so you can close the tab and resume where you left off (ADR-075). 30 days. Cleared when you stop the tour or it ends naturally. No tracking, no personal data.

No localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, or third-party trackers. Everything else — heard episodes, mission filters, Science Lens — is held in memory only and resets on reload.
